Travis R. Moore, PhD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and Associate Director of NEST. He studies how communities, organizations, and social movements change the conditions that shape health behaviors and chronic disease risk.
His work connects human ecology and community psychology with implementation science, network analysis, and participatory systems methods. He examines how collective action, evidence, power, and relationships contribute to changes in policies, organizational practices, and environments that support health.
Before joining Pitt in 2026, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, where he worked with ChildObesity180 and Catalyzing Communities. Earlier roles included Director of Systems Evaluation at healthTIDE, visiting research at Washington University in St. Louis, and evaluation leadership at the Center on Research & Evaluation at Southern Methodist University.
